I have finally made the
tow hook and made it operate remotely. The main sections are cut from 4mm
steel plate and took some time with a file to get them to work smoothly!
This first picture shows the hook in the closed (towing ) position. The
side plates are vertical and lock the swinging keeper in place.

Next picture shows the hook in
the released position. The side plates are pulled forward with a Bowden
cable from a servo in the body.

This shows the keeper in its dropped position which will allow the
carriage to be released.

These next pictures show the hook in position on the rear tow frame of the
Talus. The pulleys on each side of the winch are turnaround pulleys for
the rope operated launch system.
This last picture shows the
rear of the tractor with the winch system finished and the hydraulic pipes
fitted.

I only have a few minor
details to add and The Beast will be finished (but not the r/c system as
yet because I have to find the cash for a new four channel system, any
offers??????)
I will be starting the detailing of the main boat cabin in the next few
days and will send pictures as usual.
Bye for now! Mike
