Hi Martin,

I have finally made the last sections of the 3D geometry nightmare that calls itself the folding rarer mast system! These are the supports between the mast and the radio aerials. When the mast folds the supports are removed and folded along the radio aerials when they are lowered.

The main door into the wheelhouse has been built and fitted with all the locks internally operating.

I have also made and fitted the most important piece of equipment that a Mersey class lifeboat carries..........The Tea Maker!!!!!!!!!!!!

After making this the next problem was the mugs! Where can you get 1/6th scale mugs ? Answer..... Nowhere!!! you have to make them yourself. Passing a market stall I noticed a bag of eight party blowers for 25p. The plastic ends were the correct diameter with a slight taper and so the mugs were made as shown in the next picture.

This last picture shows the tea making equipment in place behind the rearmost crew seat. You can also see the chequer plate cladding on the access steps into the wheelhouse.

Even more to come !!!!!

Regards Mike - True Mersey Lifeboat Nutter!!!!!
