Hi Martin, Here are the latest updates to
the Mersey.
The foredeck details are now completed with
the addition of the foghorn and the PA loudspeaker and control box.
These are made from various sizes of tubing and rod.

I have also built the Perry buoys and their
holders for the stern rails. The holders are made from plasticard and
the life rings themselves are polystyrene rings covered and painted with
a fluorescent red !!

This next picture shows the life rings in
position on the holders.

This final picture is of the large logo that
is on each side of the wheelhouse near the stern and was made using
photoshop. It now only requires trimming with a scalpel, gluing in place
and blending in to the main wheelhouse paintwork.

Here is the latest instalment of the
Norwegian rice pudding, sorry I meant saga !!!!!!!!!
The Perry buoys are now fitted to the stern
rails and are ready for action if a man falls overboard! I just have to
make the automatic flashing lights that are fastened to the life ring.

The large logos have been fixed in place on
the wheelhouse sides and varnished to waterproof and blend them in to
the existing paintwork. You can also see the safety line fittings that
run along each side of the wheelhouse.

Raining today so that means more fittings !!
This time the attention has moved on to the
fenders at the stern of the boat. Here two of the modern solid fenders
that are fastened to the stern rails.
Take a large dumpy fishing float (they come
in all shapes and sizes!!),
Spray it grey to get rid of the flourescent
colours!!

In this case paint it white ( or whatever
colour you need),

Add the rope and hang it on the stern
rails!!

This last picture shows the finished stern
of the boat, including the automatic flashing man overboard lights
fastened to the Perry Buoys.
