Thank you very much for the compliments and also thank you to all the members for the help and support provided during the build.
I had not originally intended to be so obsessive with regards to detail, which has meant I ended up making virtually all the fittings from scratch, but have enjoyed both the research and the making. With regard to some of the superstructure I had to make some compromises as I used the basic units I built over 50 years ago. However to have started these again from scratch would have extended the build even more, with very little additional detail.
From studying all the photos I could find it is obvious that the actual RTTLs must have had various refurbs. throughout their life. This coupled with the lack of info, or info being found too late I have ended up with a model that is nowhere near a true representation of the 2754 at any stage of its life, but is my best interpretation based on the data I have researched.
I have thoroughly enjoyed the process and I know that I have learnt a lot from the experience and this will be used on the next build. One thing I need to brush up on is my painting, if you will excuse the pun.
The model has five on/off switches, various lights and the radar dish can be controlled. These are driven from the spare channels on the RC with servos operating latching switches. If anybody is interested and I can supply further info and photos if required. It is a bit Heath Robinson but does work. However I am thinking of possibly building an electronic version.
Thanks again
Howard
