they are a beautifully engine, if it hadn't been the paddle version I would have been bidding on it, I was even wondering about turning it 90 deg and fitting a really big prop. runs very nice and slow if req , have you seen the build of it on the duck ?

what boiler are you going to use ?

Hi,
I am not sure this build is on the Ducks.  i have searched but have been unable to locate it.  I believe that Bogs only made 2 of these engines and the plans have not been published.

on the boiler front i am thinking of one from Maccsteam, the 4 inch horizontal variant. http://www.maccsteam.com/Horizontal_Marine_boilers/Marine_boilers.html  if this is wrong then please anyone jump n and stop me.

Bogs built six of these engines and the build of the engine was actually described on Mayhem here:

You even get to see the paddler engine at the end.  Lovely engines built by a great craftsman.

I've not run mine on steam yet but it has so far been run for about 4-5 hours on air and I now know what project it is going to be used for.  It may well get a run on steam when I get home next time as I start to put together the parts of the plant.

Cheers for the link, a very intresting read, six engines 2 of which are paddle variants.  the last post is from the gentleman who sold the paddle engine, small world.

the project for this engine is undecided, looking for a paddle design at the moment, the build would be my 3rd paddler but first steam build.

Plans are here;

They are in French, but easy to work from.
