My choice for a move Corfu       "          "        "      "       "   and warm. No equine facilities for wife and her nag.
Her choice Western Isles           "          "        "      "       "   but wet.  Great fishing and plenty of grass for nag.
Split the difference and stay here

Isle of Skye- Wet, Midges, lack of jobs ,expensive to stay, petrol £1.28 a litre , great for the kids and great scenery make it worthwhile

Very happy where I live.  Two minutes walk from both venues at this weekends shows.

Skye is beautiful, we stay there every year on our way to South Uist which I enjoy even more,
even though the weather can be a bit wild. Last year fishing in a 40knot wind and the daft thing was
it was one of my best fishing trips ever up there. Yes I know petrol prices are horrendous and everthing
has to come in on the ferry at greater cost but it more than makes up for that with its scenery

Canvey Island, 1/4 mile from the sea although below sea level best sea  Defences in the country , lowest rainfall in UK, fantastic air quality, even
If I could afford to move I wouldn't want to.

A choice of beaches all around the peninsular, all long, flat and clean, all no more than 10 mins away.

PLUS, the Lake District is only 30 mins away.

Happy? I think so!!

One slight downside, very close to 3 of the 10 wettest places in U.K!

Only downside is no dedicated boat sailing water nearby

I'd choose Canvey Island -- if only for a chance to have met the late, great Lee Brilleaux and Wilko Johnson and Dr Feelgood per se.
They say that Mr Brilleaux was a true and upstanding gentleman. Also played a very mean slide guitar.

Yup. very happy with where I am. I'm on a farm about five miles from a smallish town. Close enough for needs, but far enough for peace and quiet. The only change would be a bit of water (stream small lake or whatever)

That brings back some memories, did you know Chas Hall, Chas played piano for Dr Feelgood he is now a Motor Caravan dealer with a showroom In Rayleigh.

To be totally honest, I wasn't even aware they had a pianist in the band at any time. I always assumed they were just a 4-piece combo, so pse forgive me for never hearing of a Chas Hall. I did find this on Wiki, but again, no mention of Mr Hall - sorry.

Wiltshire and Dorset has always done it for me. Even Cornwall.
I'm usually always at my happiest from the very moment whenever I cross the Somerset county line.

Very happy- recently moved into a 250 year old mill-workers cottage in the Lake District national park- coniston water is 5 mins away, windermere is 10mins away, the lovely town of Ulverston is 5mins away and the locals are salt of the earth, oh and one of the best pubs in south cumbria (see boatmadman for testification) is 4 doors away!

We live in West London. We have loved our time here in the U.K. but have had enough. It has changed significantly in the 9 years we have been here so we are moving to Mairangi Bay on Auckland's North Shore.

So, happy where I live? Not anymore.

We have friends in Mairangi Bay and where I would like to live is with the rest of my family just north of Auckland in the town of Wellsford.

To ill so have to stay in Southampton where I live not far from the General Hospital. Handy.

  Count me in. My father used to have a week's game fishing in the Bay of Islands every year, and then move on to Tokaanu for some serious fishing on the Tongariro. Near Auckland, or maybe get away from it all in the Chateau national park (forget the official name). Saw a nice ski lodge there recently at a very sensible price.

  Very happy living overlooking Newlyn harbour and Mounts Bay ..................... especially with a large boating pool at Wherrytown, Penzance a short drive away!
Beautiful ................... always something to see in the harbour and the bay. Wouldn't change it for the world! ansome!!!!!

I moved to Finland 2 years ago and I havent looked back.  Only a few things i miss, a pint and a decent cup of tea.  Although I do normally fill my case with supplies when I come back to see the family.  This includes Tea bags, gravy, bassets allsorts, and galaxy chocolate for the other half oh and modelling supllies from the 99p stores

And this is our Lake in winter Well its not entirely ours as its huge, I doubt ill ever be returning to the UK for more than just a visit
