Hullo Bernhard.......could I be  :P & so brave as to say... :embarrassed:...messy workshop produces the best quality boats... :-))

Now back to questions......I see you have painted some valving RED ...do you use high temperature paint?....as I painted my steam discharge valve with standard Humbrol RED enamel .......but after two boiler lightings the valve body was a dark BROWN ....

I also see the Anton V71 is still upside down.........you know me....the one with the good memory..... %% ....Derek

Good evening!
Lovely Bernhart! :-))
Just one question: why a valve to isolate the regulator?
Cheers! ok2

Hi KBIO,

The reason an isolation point is put before any control is so that any problems with the control can be isolated under steam.

Also I suspect Bernhard doesn't want his regulator to come under any nasty vacuum forces as the boiler cools down.

KBIO....another plus for an isolation valve in the pilot line to the gas regulator is to provide the ability to close the pilot pressure & therfore the normally open regulator is bypassed & the burner has full available gas pressure

It still has me concerned in that ANTON use a nitrile diaphram & NBR o-rings [good for 100 degrees C] in their regulators, but Bernhard takes the pilot supply from the top of the boiler @ 150 degrees C.....so I guess the line must cool down  <:( <:( <:( a bit before the pilot signal gets to the regulator........ O0....Derek

Derek,

The steam supply to the top of the regulator is static- in a very short time indeed that will become a plug of water at fairly low temperatures.

mmm.....thanks Greg....I have discussed this with Fabrice....[Anton] ....& he finally agreed that it was preferable to bleed or eliminate the column of air which would act as an accumulator & hence dampening out the function of the gas regulator .....in this case boiler pressue

From this... I chose to install a union close by the regulator input fluid pilot pressure source......Derek

Aye - that's a more boaty-look.

... Not least because he's now checking the time to see if the harbour pub's open!  :-))

Brilliant build, Bernhard. I am in awe of a lot of peoples' skills on Model Boat Mayhem, but this is an absolute cracker.

Good evening!
:-)) Bernhard! It looks real! O0
How do you make the floor fixations (as these,  close to the burner)==> pipe + screw w/ small piece of metal sticked on it or different?
Thanks & cheers. ;)
