MAKE THIS CONTINUOUS SMOKE GENERATOR FOR RC SHIPS..AT HOME...
« on: January 22, 2011, 05:42:47 am »

Good morning my all respected  loving and caring Friends...as i started my work on my X bow tug, i found an  amazing device on that craft, is its exhaust system,on the port side ,over the canopy...it looks like a diamond necklace on a neck of a beautiful woman...enchanting...but i never copy it, but, will add some imagination, but will be stunning..so sure i need some smokes from it..., i shared you all my puffing smoke generator, but it is not appropriate here, as it puffs..here i need a continuous smoke trace...and in a mild manner..so i turned again to my drawing board..no..this time,i never burned my brain much..because i already done one...but yes..you are right...a cup of coffee...ommm...yummyyyy....and ideas...!!!

its too easy to make one...here we are not using any battery, hazardous chemicals...no resistor wires...no mess...and very less in weight...compact...and can go for any size, can fix anywhere in our craft...and can take smoke through anywhere as we needed...simple to make...elegant...all from handy things around us...but it never shows any head weight..it will smoke up a craft from simple diesel boat, to a ultra powered war ship...and the main advantage of this kind of smoke generator is , the ever divine smell, from the incense sticks...just feel of standing to an Althara, of a Church, or on the  Sreekovil of a Temple...so our craft will graced...

now, the Fig 1 shows a piece of a pvc pipe, its inner diameter is mere 1 inch, and we can go for a big one, but see this, and asses its rate of working, and can go for bigger...we can cut a piece of pipe simply...we can also go for anything like in this shape, a plastic lid,or a part of a can..anything...but make sure, its width is about 8 to 10 mm ....

make a oval hole on the pipe, by heating a screw driver over the gas burner..or with any tool with you...clean the mouth with sand paper....

cut, a piece from the tube, and make sure it is almost 1 inch at least...and cut, or grind its one end as you see here...

now , body of the smoke generator is ok...find a motor for this..remember..here we do not need any powerfull motor...we need only a toy motor,or a motor from a walkman..must within 200 ma..so it will not affect the battery life...if you do not have any less power motor, you can still use a motor from a taperecorder, or from a record player, by taking off its speed controller...a 4.7 ohms, or 10 Ohms 1 watt resistor also help to reduce the consumption of the motor...

cut out a circle, from 1mm foam board, that must be greater than the pipe we use...make sure its centre by Compass...and fix motor there with some drops of super  glue...BLUMMMM....its there...once again we must thank for the super glue...

make an impeller as shown, by glueing foam board strips on it...after making sure, drop some super glue all around, including motor shaft...

cut a thirdth circle,as like as the 1st one, but make a hole at centre, and fix a cap, or a piece of a pipe as shown to increase the venturi pressure...

now time to check...connect the pump, to a esc, or to a battery pack...and make sure it is blowing air...and make sure, the direction, of the motor , it must be faced to the pipe that we fixed at first...

fill all gaps with epoxy putty or by anything, if you are too concered to weight, you can simply grind off excess material from it....now we have a simple CENTRIFUGAL BLOWER....

our next step is finding a plastic bottle, or  PP, brass, steel bottle with a lid, with screw, and its size is all according to the crafts...but remember...a long bottle will hold a lond insence stick, so a longer time smoke....make a hole to the size of the tube that we fixed on to the pump, just above the lid line, and paste a piece of foam board over there...
the bottle must be upside down....

leave the bottle to dry...within that time, take the lid, an cut a circle from an aluminium sheet, thin is enough, that within the lids circumference.
