I was about your age when I got my first decent camera, though I had to wait until I was about 20 for my first SLR and 22 before I got a zoom lens! Your photos are way better than mine when I was your age.
I note that you haven't edited any of the photos, but I'm sure you're also well aware of the power of the digital darkroom. What we used to do in the dark with chemicals, smoke and mirrors, we can now do much better with the computer and software. For me, it's all part of the fun. For sure, get the composition and exposure right (or as right as you can get it) - I used to use transparency film, good old Kodachrome 25 mainly, as what you shot was what you got - but after that, the power open to you to make a good photo into a great one is at your fingertips.
