adam,
if you have the plans for the Arun you are building, surely you can make a list of the fittings yourself....that's part of the fun of the build, working out and solving the problems. also by doing that you'll learn the technical names for the parts you need.

as most aruns were different it would be hard to actually specify exactly what you need.

as for the size of the Trent, just go onto the speedline site and the figures are there.

Otherwise go on to the RNLI web site and do a search for dims figures for the boat you require...........and then scale it down to either 1:12 or 1:16....all part of the fun of modelling.

then   you'll have learned a bit more about the boat you are building through your own efforts.

Not criticising, more trying to make you a little more self sufficient in your own research.

Hi Neil,

Yes not my boat, I'm just tasked with locating/sourcing fittings and refrence's, relation prefers the build not the sourcing.  {:-{

Regarding the plan, There is nothing here yet. Models by design is sending Arun up end of jan.
Also the lass thats normally at RNLI who deals with plan information/requests is off on maternity leave,
And the lass who is covering is also off.

I did not think anyone would mind parting with information,
Regarding the Trent at speedline. only the length 48" is mentioned not her beam.

Also found this dont know if anyone might be interested.> http://www.westcountrystampsandcovers.co.uk/rnli-commemorative--signed-covers-44-c.asp

just looked at the first day covers for Lifeboats that you supplied the link to? I found them to be vary varied in price (as they are),and would suggest maybe you could get a better deal on a well known auction site,as I have.the prices there also vary, but there are some real bargains, especially if you buy a multi lot,ok,so you might get a few repeats, but then you could also auction those off!
    They are nice items though.

didn't realise you were just finding info for someone else adam.
so, the beram on the trent is 4.53metres or 14.87 feet, so depends whether you are making it at 1:12 or 1:16 scale it will be 14 3/4 inches or 10 3/4 inches respectively
as for the arun class, just looked in my arun manual and they all seam to have 10 per side from bow ti bottom of the well just before the aft quarters.

Thanks for info regarding auction.  :-))

Neil thanks for the info, yes it's my uncle who is doing the Arun build, And i get the leg work.
I guess i figured it would be quicker to post on here and get info re fittings etc, and as you say not 1 LB is the same unique,
However there must be a general arrangement of whats expected on them.

The Trent is for myself,  ok2 as it's being bought as a gift so to speak for doing the research, It's just a hull might have a deck, unsure
And it's 1/12 scale  :-)) :-))

Again many thanks for the information chaps,
Please keep it coming though.

kindest regards adam

if you pm me your email address I'll send you some photos of the arun I built, (52 - 02 Sir william arnold) and the actual boat in civilian guise but it is the 2nd prototype boat and there are a lot of differences around it, but it will give you some idea of what some of the fittings look like.

think that's after the belting has been added....think adam needed the beam for getting a deck measurement.

search light and loudspeaker from Metcalf Mouldings/Models by design, but the other bits are simple fabrications from bits of plasticard.
