BLACKPOOL SHOW HELP NEEDED
« on: October 22, 2012, 04:56:39 pm »

Hello Modellers
Deans Marine are asking for some help concerning the Blackpool show.
Between Sat night and Sunday afternoon at the show a model was "adrift" from our stand, if any modeller has pictures taken of our stand during sunday showing this model it would give us a good idea when it went adift ?.
She was a Blue hulled two masted trawler on the display next the the two new prototype models on show on the tables adjacent to SHGs stand.
The new models of the Higandorf and the Truro were very popular and many pictures were taken of them, the trawler was one of the models on the same display.
Possibly at the end of the day with models being moved around, she was picked up and taken home in a club display in error, so if you have a spare blue trawler that no one has claimed, please drop us a line.
The model never left the hall during the day through the entrance, we are assured by Mark, and it was to large to be hidden under a coat etc,   so we feel sure that this is what has happened, strange that the stand was left behind.?
I do not believe that this model was stolen and hidden on a club stand until the closing and than taken out with the other models.  If at all it has been stolen by outsiders, but we need to know when, and how, if this is the case.
The Police have been informed and the video camera films from the secuirty cameras are being forwarded from the hotel that cover the hall and the outside areas and we feel sure that this will bring some light to the missing model.
If you feel that you can help in any way please drop me a line at deansmarine|@yahoo.co.uk, or by phone 01733 244166
Pictures of the model as completed, and as she was on the stand (we never had time to rig the rigging)
Many thanks for your time and other than this we had a great time and did enjoy coming home and meeting all out friends of old, ? or is it old friends.
Regards
  Ron Dean

Sorry to hear about the missing boat, I have just checked all my photos but unfortunately no shots of your stand.  :((

Some shots of your stand on http://www.modelboatmayhem.co.uk/shows2012/Blackpool/imagepages/image629.html  , Blackpool Show, photos 629 - 633, that Martin took on Saturday, but I don't think that particular boat appeared in frame.

Ron
I was at the show until 1330 hrs on Sunday and had a good look at the Truro (which you said was just by your missing model) about 1130 and again about 1300 as I was very interested in the Truro and looked at it from all available angles.
I cannot recall seeing the missing model on either occasion but can say that if it had been there, then I would probably have noticed it as I am also interested in trawlers and because it was so different being painted nearly all blue.
Good luck
John
