Great spot although I did hear kids in a canoe shout "snake in the water!"
I think that all the steam engines on display were infact Cheddar.

Yes, all the engines are Cheddar. There were two Proteus and one Puffin. The two Proteus engines currently reside in a torpedo stern hull from Aeromarine laminates. The Puffine is in a fantail launch hull from Asromarine as well. The regatta was at Lake Redman near York, PA.

Oops, need a "re-do".  There are two Aeromarine Torpedo Stern hulls, one has a Proteus (mine) and the other has a  TVR1A with a homemade boiler (first photo). Jerry, owner of the TVR1A, also has a tug that is powered by a Proteus (bottom photo shows the power plant). The open launch sporting the Cheddar Puffin is also an Aeromarine hull. That particular model was built and owned by my father.

Lake Redman started as a regatta primarily for scale model warships but has over the last 10 years or so been open to almost anything that floats. The Task Force 50 guys that run it do a really nice job.

The regatta is usually the third Sunday in August right outside York, PA. All are welcome.
