Hi all

Just a quick intro, I last did any model boat modelling way back in the 60,s and have decided to start over again.

I have just received plans for the Fairey Swordsman which I hope to soon start.

First dumb question most of the parts show 3mm ply, I have a lot of 4mm other than adding a bit more weight is it ok to use 4mm ply.

Should be no problem - but you may have to modify some other parts of the plan because of the extra thickness, so there'll be a bit of checking to do..

It might also alter the aesthetics a bit if you use slightly wider wood where the edges are visible...

Hi Bran and welcome to Mayhem.

We look forward to your doing a build blog on here. Don't forget, we love plenty of pictures.
