I have just pulled the hull from the frames could not resist.
It was proving difficult to get to the upper planks and I wanted to see if it would come off.
It did, boy is it light I can't believe it. I am thinking that I might line out the interior with a veneer of the timber used to construct the hull and then finish to a high quality.

Hi steamup........& our SteamboatPhil says....."My Dad once told me "its a very brave man that produces a boat all finished in wood"
I agree with Phil's Dad
...but also suggest a well producded all wooden hull can be an element of absolute beauty and a reflection of the craftsman's ability
Just review some of the work by Patternmaker Mick & Jerry C ....keep up the good work
& post more images as you progress.......Derek

After some head scratching I took the plung and started to clean up the interior of the hull.
I had thought that it would be too rough to get a good finish hence the idea of vaneering the interior.
Once I started to shave off the excess I became a little more confident in the end it all looked good so on with the cloth and the epoxy.

Whats the white stuff?
We never have any thing like that here.
Now that it's glassed inside, can you believe how strong it is?

Don't think you will see much in Texas Reggie its called SNOW and its a pain in the a**.
Took it down to the lake side (frozen solid) to show the lads at the club.
Everybody was impressed by the strength and the light weight of the hull.
I am about to start working out the location of the bulk heads with reference to the photos I have collected with your help.

I have just cut out the template for the canopy, clearly once in place you can see very little of the model
.
Not so sure now

Well this is it with a few clamps to hold all in place ,not sure about it at the moment I will leave it for a day or so to see how it grows on me.
The top will be painted mid grey.

It's looking great.
I dislike the canopy enough to not bother making one and having to extend my boiler flue.
What engine are you going to install?
Cheers,
Reg
