Hi all. My name is rob, this is the project I'm doin at the moment. Bought is as unfinished. Sanded it all back down at painting wasn't very good and going to put more detail on her as she was plain. Will update as I go along. Thank you

Lol. It's a unique stand ain't it lol. Well I'm not 100% sure because I bought as an unfinished project but I have a static model of a navy guided missile frigate and is pretty much the identical. When it model there was very little detail so I'm finishing her and adding loads of detail. But if anyone has any tips or anything to help with addin more detail would be greatly apreciated as the static I have is small and can't make out the detail lol.

Nothing to do with this thread or what anyone has said but would just like to point out it allways makes me laugh when you see on ebay fathers selling up their boats and hobbies because have a baby on arrival. Using the baby as an excuse. I have kids and never has it stopped me from enjoying my hobbies, in fact its made it more pleasurable having your kids around to share it with you. I hope you enjoy your build hodgy and i hope you have as good a time sharing it with your kid/kids as i do.  :-))

My Kids are 19 and 25 and  >>:-( ......... erm lets get back to Hodgy's boat :}

I know what you mean a bout people selling due to baby arrival lol. Don't know why they do it. I'm only 22 (yes shocker lol) and my 2 year old is fascinated with them. Took him down the local lake the other day and had my cabin cruiser on and his jaw was on the floor. It's a great thing to get kids involved in them. Plus it keeps them quiet on days out with the boats lol.

Got the hull all sanded almost ready for paint but found few imperfections so got to sort them first. Getting there.

First coat of primer to find any imperfections. And have to say there are only a couple luckly lol

Little update. Primer done. One more coat before paint. Main superstructure been remodelled to fit larger batterie in. Started detail in the bridge. Motor is now in place and fixed down. Rudder post now inplace and rear cover made and primed. Will upload pics tommorow when I get better pics on the light.

It might help a lot if you could state the size/scale of the model. You may have a reference point to work from...but I don't.
How much is it going to weigh?

Got a nice bargain from eBay. X2 6 channel transmitter and 2 recovers for £20. Hey are for helicopters but they can e programmed by your pc. So I have set it up for the boat and works perfectly. Bargin if you ask me.

As long as they are not 35Mhz as it's illegal to use them for anything other than Aircraft/helis.  But I'm guessing if they are the computer programmable ones then they are 2.4Ghz

been a wile since i last updated as had to put model aside for family reasons, but now all sorted and im back, with the ultimate bargin of the the new transmiter setup matde the model a bit more complex, the working turret is all done just need to make the cannon fire water, have the brigde nearly done and have strategicly fitted an let so you can actuily see in, going to get the waterline done in next few days also, will get some pics up soon to show whats been done, hopefully gona get her in the water for a little sail also soon i think :D

been a wile since i updated this so here we are latest photos


mecanism for cannon and micro servo to operate the switch for water cannon  :}

and in the bath (just fits lol) getting balast right and getting water line

started spraying the waterline and the rest of the upper structor, will get more pics as i go,
