Me and a few members of Wicksteed Park MBC will be joining the show on the Saturday bringing a few models with us, primarily my HMS Prince George and Dad's new HMS X1 project. Looking forward to seeing everyone again since I missed last year due to my little trip to the Falklands!
See you there! :-))

Sure, I'll give a report on the quality of the sausages, but you have to remember that Ron can only afford one thing as per normal- the nice weather or extremely nice sausages, I've already sold my soul to the devil for the Mayhem weekend in May so it looks like he'll be re-mortgaging his soul again, sorry Ron had to have a little joke at your expense! LOL! It'll be good show though lots of traders and clubs visiting again this year, I hear that the great John Lambert is attending this year, so expect to have the Micky taken out of you!

I am aiming to drive up to Peterborough, probably on the Saturday.  This is a super event.

However I doubt that repairs to HMS Polyphemus will be ready in time so just my two WW1 Deans warships again

Hi Neil

The model is called HMS Niobe and it belongs to David Viewing aka Victorian.
He told me that he used the lower half of a Mouldean HMS Kent and built up from the waterline with his own hull plating.
It's a fantastic model and sails very well, David told me that it weighed a lot but was surprisingly stable in most conditions. Just hoping that I will be able to match his skill of modelling in my Majestic class battleship.

Must say what an enjoyable day we had yesterday, nice to meet up with familiar faces and some new ones!
Whilst the weather wasn't brilliant in the morning the afternoon treated us with sunshine. The bacon and sausages butties were a welcome break between discussions and watching the models on the water.
I have to thank Ron Dean for introducing me to a few new friends and a big thank you to Colin-d for showing me photos of his model of HMS Inflexible and his mate's build of HMS Hannibal- absolutely fantastic quality- I learnt so much from Colin that I will be using my newly learnt info in the near future on my build of HMS Prince George. I had a brilliant conversation with Bob K who was very interested in both my model and my Dad's X1 project- looking forward to seeing your polythemus sailing soon.
Met up with Suffolk1928 aka James with his brilliant ongoing build of the WW2 HMS Suffolk, the detail on the model is amazing, hope I can do my hull justice! Victorian aka David Viewing deserves a big thank you for all the info and pictures of his build that he sent me, it was Victorians model of Mars that allowed me to see some of the hidden detail of these predreadnoughts.
I got to see Marmoi aka Mark of Burton MBC demonstrating his new revolving and elevating guns, and his 3D printing models- fabulous work and detail!
Found Martin lurking in the shop-don't worry Mrs Mayhem I didn't see him buying anything-honest!!! ;)
Already looking forward to next year, especially with the possibility of a Victorian fleet review! :-))
