1: 48 HMS Bulldog
« on: June 27, 2007, 01:53:43 pm »

Hello,

I am just getting underway with a Dave Metcalf HMS Bulldog, (fabulous hull) I have 2 plans from Dave & some photographs from Martin, and a Model Boats mag. giving a build of a bulldog from Deans Marine, different scale, but useful all the same, probably enough to see me well down the line.
There are however some problems that I can see coming, e.g. the 1948 double anchor winch, is there a 1:48 ready made? where, for the stanchion's? etc.
Is there anyone who has made a 1:48 scale bulldog, who would be willing to give me some advice if I hit snags?
I have the motors in, rudders made and linked to the servo, two (ply) decks made and marked out, although I'm not sure whether to fit them now, or plank first.

Thanks gingyer,
Had a quick look, it seems like that there may be lots of useful parts, must get my vernier out and start measuring.

Again thanks

If you have trouble with stanchions you can get them made:

James Lane (Display Models)
30 Broadway
Blyth
Northumberland
NE24 2PP

Telephone: 01670 352051

A lot of the chaps on here use him and reckon he's excellent
