Hi Dave

In case you hadn't noticed the advert in my copy of Sept MMI says the show is at Coalville and not Blackpool. I presume this is an error.

Hi Stavros
Yes one of my members told me today of the complete cock up thats in  MMI . I did point out to him there is only ONE show at Coalville and One at Blackpool, and whats more it is not the 5th Oct and the 26th Oct.
 :o
Still Let's hope the show goes well.
I can't make it up to Blackpool as i may get a nose bleed all that way up north {-)

Have Fun.

Some magic battery packs, too. Two of ours totally disappeared while we were packing up after the last show we did. I'm taking a break from the Norbreck this year, too.

It wont be long till this show is upon us This is usually the last show in this Area so now will be a good time to stock up on your bits and bobs ready for those winter builds.

The Blackpool show is well attended by the usual Gang of traders...I WILL put up a list closer to the event......Clubs will be there  with loads of spectacular Models on Display    O0 O0 O0 O0

Tea and Coffee and sandwiches are available at the Hotel and Also there is a Darned Good Chippy approx 5 mins walk form the venue.

Also close the the venue there is a cash point for those of you who prefer cash.

The Illuminations are on  the weekend of the show so why not combine a sightseeing weekend and come to the show, drop the Wife or Partner off in town as there are Many shops they can go round and spend YOUR money.. O0 {-) {-) {-) {-)

There will be of course the usual Blackpool show trophies to be handed out to the best club stand best in show ect etc

A pool will be available to sail on and seating around the pool so you can enjoy watching the on water displays

As usual there is NO charge for club stands or seats, all you have to do is simple really CONTACT Mark or Myself to discuss your requirements..............

Traders .....if you haven't Booked in the please do so ASAP so we can organize the floor plan.

Hopefully we will see you THERE

Right then Model Boats international have been in contact and wish to make it known they are Highly Embarrased about the editorial Blunder that has appeared in the present issue over the SHOW DATES,this was due to a human error which we can not go into a GENUINE MISTAKE.

There is going to be a correction and a show preview in Next Months mag which WILL BE OUT before the Blackpool show.

I forgot to mention that there Will be a BRING and BUY as usal at the show...so root through your sheds look underneath those benches nad bring some unwanted Modles or Building gear to the show and sell them....you might even get that new boat you have allways wanted.

Addmission to the show is £6/Day......Weekend Ticket £9.......children under 12 are Free.

A Model World will as usual be Holding A FREE raffle To WIN a Boat and other prizes as well

Tickets at Blackpool are done slightly different …Whilst most clubs take great advantage and buy between 30 and 65 reduced rate tickets as most members are coming we noted this was not fair on some smaller clubs who had only 3 or four members coming, especially those from a far so you can either still buy the reduced rate tickets if you have many members attending for the whole club or you can have up to 10 free tickets, you cannot do both its either 10 free tickets or buy as many as you want at the reduced rate (the tickets will also allow competition entry)..

Would club secretaries also pass this information on to members as some members complain about paying for tickets ..We do give the choice of free or reduced rate for all.

FOR EXAMPLE

So you as a club can have 10 free tickets or you can buy the reduced rate tickets which are 4.00 for the weekend  never ever has it been 12.00 for a club member   The clubs abive I refer to buy say 60 tickets at 4.00 each for the weekend effectively £2 a day which is nothing One of them then says right ten free tickets for the people manning the stand and Bill Ted Jim and so on all gte a free ticket and that leaves them fifty tickets which have cost them still £240.00 so  £240.00 divided by 50 is £4.80 so each ‘non grafting’ member gets a weekend ticket for £2.40   thus the grafters get the free ticket and everyone else gets a silly priced ticket…Now some argue Im bringing  a boat so I should get a free ticket  well if you take that to the extreme every person walking through the door could bring a boat, everyone could therefore get in free and there would be no recoup of the show costs some £10k as well as some very messy club stands with a  hundred boats on each.

You may well be tinking what on EARTH is this all about.......................Well it is very simple really RUMOURS OF THIS AND THAT are rife about the Blackpool show.....Maybee it is time we called this Month the SEPTFOOL month ............................

As a Famous Rally Driver said If in Doubt Flat out...............OR SHOULD I SAY IF IN DOUBT PICK UP THE PHONE AND ASK......
and stop spreading rumours
Last year  We saw a 458 increase through the door on 2013
We are delighted to announce that after some hard negotiation with the Norbreck, we have secured the hotel again for 2014 and 2015
With set up on the Friday from noon
We have some added security this year with 5 cameras in the venue and a night watchman on site and inside the venue.

So lets get this RIGHT

Sat Addmission £6.................Sunday Addmission £6
WEEKEND TICKET ...........£9.50

Sadly not yet....I honestly cant express what a huge project this has been, it has mostly been myself and I need to work also to fund everything.....slow is an understatement. For all my optimism a year ago or so, this year has had one roadblock after another...culminating with a small operation at the start of summer.

I wont give up, as ive given it to much time, effort and money. I may need to reign it back and try to find the joy in it as opposed to a commercial adventure....hopefully everything will flow again  :((

Kind of why ill get rid of my kits, ive got so many custom builds ahead ill never get round to them  <:(

hi guys . me and a few of the lads from west wales model boats are going to come up for the whole weekend  . we have never been to this show before so i have a few questions
1:     im just wondering if this show is a static show or is there a pond / pool to sail on !
2:     we wasnt planning on displaying at the show as its our first year and was just going to attend as general public / spectators  but if 1 or 2 of our members brought a boat / bought a boat at the shows bring and buy  would we be allowed to sail it on the pond ( if there is one )

3:     also as we are not displaying at the show are we still allowed to bring boats to sell on the bring and buy table

thanx in advance . ian :-)

Really looking forward to this show. Just been to the Fleetwood Model Railway Exhibition last weekend, my eldest son exhibited his small layout there last year which he built himself ( Robins Lane ) and he was only 14 years old at the time and ran it with his 12 year old brother. Considering their age they both did really well and explained to onlookers about the workings of DCC powered sound equipped loco's. I was a proud dad of them both that's for sure :-)  On a model boat theme, the eldest has a Dickie tug conversion and the youngest has a PCF Swift semi scale patrol boat which was converted from a cheap RTR police boat, you know the type, pod motors underneath that last for about 5mins in the water!!!!  Anyway, look forward to the show, can't wait!!!!!   Regards, Dave.
