Recording engine sounds
« on: May 03, 2015, 11:19:15 pm »

Hi folks..

What's the best way of recording the engine sounds on a Mersey for use in my own model when I get around to building it.

I've direct access to a Mersey lifeboat as I'm crew at our local station in Newcastle, Co Down.

Regards

Hello Declan,

I am also interested to know this, as I'm thinking of doing the same.

What I'm thinking is, buying a reasonable recording microphone that plugs into an iPhone and I've downloaded a recording app. Lower the microphone just above and in the middle of the 2 exhausts, fire up and record away.

If anyone has a better idea I'd also be interested to know,

Regards

Ian
