Where is the real vessel? Is it part of that abandoned breakers yard in the Hudson river?

Also spent the week out at Dortmund, 2nd time iv been to show ,  last year was a lot better.
Boat hall certainly lacked content and  new exhibits ,very unfortunate but didn't spend much more than half hour in the boat hall very disappointed , the rest of the show however was very enjoyable and worth looking at.

Guys......is the ''boat loader'' marked with the X ......like they use in marinas & repair yards a functional model?

From the electrics onboard.....it appeared interesting.....the only thing is the nylon slings would need weighing down

This could be the inexpensive answer  <*< to a number of questions from our members O0 ...............Derek

Thoroughly enjoyed Dortmund. It does seem to be mainly a model rail show. They flying bit was smaller than expected although the standard of some of the flying was very very high. The machinery, diggers, trucks etc were fantastic.

Some machinery photos. Cheap is not a good word to use here. The red digger - photo 2 - was €6500. I just love the trials truck in photo 9 and the detail in the Fiat (final photo) was fantastic. The machinery was all Tamiya scale.

The Komatsu WA400 was totally scratch built , he could not get tyres so he cast his own , did you see in the glass case the hydraulic pump he made . He had access to the real one for all the dimensions the hubs  had the correct planetary reduction . I had a long talk with him , my interest was I used to a work for Komatsu .

I had not realised that the Komatsu was hand made. Some people can simply work to a higher standard than others. Amazing model. The Fiat was the same story. It was hand made & absolutely incredible. How I wish that I had that skill & commitment.

I have posted some more pictures here:
