Hi all. I would appreciate some advice on how best to protect the paint job above deck. I've used acrylic gloss paint with acrylic primer which is on mostly 3mm plywood.


The hull I have used sanding sealer and will be fibreglassing it and then painting. So, which paint is best for fibreglass with paint on it. I'm kinda thinking of going the Halfords paint route but am open to advice. Thanks folks....Supaboat

Any automotive paint should do well IMHO.  Let's face it, these paints are intended to cope with the challenges faced by cars and come out shining.     The secret, as ever, is all in preparing the surface thoroughly to take the paint finish (and retain it thereafter).

I've also just noticed that the latest (November 2018) issue of Model Boat magazine has a feature article on finishing boat hulls.  Might be worth a look?
