hemmens water pump

Hi just trying to get my Hemmens water pump working on the Max 2 engine ,cleaning the clack valve as well ,can anyone confirm that the water pump clack that has the  cross cut on the face next to the ball is the water out to boiler ,thanks for any replies ,regards Allan

I would upgrade to rubber or silicone balls, they usually seal better than metal balls.

Thanks i think that would be a good plan ,also I'm not in love with the twin poker burners they seem to struggle maintaining pressure even after cleaning the jets I've ordered some new ones from clevedon steam will give them a try , But has anyone  altered the burner on the hemmens vertical boiler to get more efficiency i/e changed the twin poker burner setup for a firetube burner or other, thanks for any replies , regards Allan
