I see all these Launches and all I can say is Beautiful work! And BerhardBB you Sir have a gift, your work is Exceptional.
My question, where do you get plans to build a Steam Launch of say 40” or larger? Not that I could ever duplicate what you guys have done here but I would sure like to try, could you suggest a place to start.
Thanks,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,
I had the same problem.
The UK's Windermere Steam Launch Museum ( http://www.lakelandartstrust.org.uk/steamboat/history_of_the_museum.html ) used to sell the plans for their collection of launches, but the chap that organised that aspect of the museum I believed retired and they no longer sell the plans; its worth checking though.
I bought some plans of a full size vessel from a boat yard called Selway Fisher ( http://www.selway-fisher.com/ ) who specialises in launches.
Although the plans are expensive, its worth explaining that they are just for a model boat and you might be able to negotiate a worthwhile reduction.
I selected the 30 foot Edwardian steam launch, the plans of which are very detailed.
Ian.

Two things. The canopy shown on my launch is not part of the original Wideawake plan and I shan't be using it when i install the plant in my launch. Progress is slow at the moment. I'm working on the adaptions to my engine. It came with no exhaust manifold or lubricator and I need to change the inlet piping.
Second thing. The CD is clearly offering scans of the Model Boats build articles from the early 1970s. I have the original magazines which I have kept since those far off days. I wonder if the seller has cleared the right to use Model Boats magazine copyright material to sell for profit!

Every time I see your model Guy I fall in love with it. I am about to start the planking on my Wide A Wake while I continue to work on my Borderer engine, exhaust and displacement lubricator next.
Have you seen this?
