Title: HMS Tantaside (1/96) by Deans Marine. A few Questions.
Post by: jonny shoreboy on June 22, 2009, 07:56:07 pm
Hi everyone.

I was wondering if anyone here has built this kit or knows someone who has. The reason I am asking is because I would like to know how differcult it will be for me to build. I have nearly finished my corvette and wasn't sure if this model would be a step to far for me. I know it is a lot different to just gluing a plastic kit together but I do fancy a challenge. I have no idea how complex or differcult one of the Deans kits are and don't want to bite off more then i can chew.

The reason I am asking is because my Grandfather served on HMS Haydon (L75) another Hunt III Escort Destroyer during WWII and I have always wanted to build a scale model of this ship. I started with the Revell Corvette as this seemed like a good first project and good introduction to model boats but the HMS Tantaside is the kit I ultimately want to build.

Jonny.

Dear Sir
Have a trip to the showroom at the factory, look in the kit box,
anything you are not sure of, ask for some advice in the workshops,
have a look at the model in the showroom,
chat to one of the researchers about a conversion
then you can make your decision based on  what you see and your own skills
Regards
