Does any body use JR radio gear?(40mhz).
Im moving to boats from aero.

JR radios are very good, not heard of any problems, but consider Spektrum, same price, made by same company, just 2.4 gig.
-
Tomo,
Spektrum is really a JR radio. They just and add there RF deck to a JR case/electronics.
Where do you sail?

I spoke to JR MacGregor they say that the cases are the same (DX7- JR 2610) but that is where the similarity ends.
Im looking for a older JR radio that has a plug in module in the back (3810? or similar).
Ive compared my 2610 to Spektrum DX6i and much prefer the feel of the JR equipment.
As to where I sail there is a pond out the Forest of Dean near the bike hire place.I had a go there to make sure all was well with my Deans ASRL. but was thinking of joining the Gloucester club.

When you say the cases are the same I think that includes the stick/gimball mechanism. I hope it also includes the pots as I have always felt JR equipment to be the best & always fly with it on both 35mhz & 2.4ghz.

I haven't handled a JR radio closely but we have several customers who have changed to JR from Futaba and who haven't changed back since. I know of none who have dropped JR in favour of other radios. You draw your own conclusions, don't you?
I did look at the JR website but the sets on it seemed very much biased towards aircraft and helicopters.

JR has three basic attractions to me:
1. Quality. I simply feel that it is the best
2. Programming. After using the JR method everything else is clunky.
3. JR 2.4Ghz is compatible with Spektrum which is by far the most widely used with lots of ready to fly indoor etc using this system.
I must admit that for boats I still use 40mhz Futaba but then I ask a lot less of my boat radios. I will be fitting 2.4Ghz when I have spare receivers or need to buy new ones for my boats.

Tomo,
You will be very welcome to sail with G&DMBC.
Hmmmm not sure I agree with the Mc G comments as I feel there is more than slight financial twist to there view....
Mc G is the reason I quit flying in the UK.....Not playing there game....but lets not get political in this post..... <*<

I don't know what stunt you are talking about. Could you explain?
