Hi everyone just wondering if there are any members that live in the north shields area that could spare a little bit of time and knowledge and have a look at my boat I'm in the middle of building many thanks Dave

Hi Dave
I'm sure there are and I hope one gets in touch soon.
Why not post a couple of pics and see what response you get here. I won't be much use but there are some knowledgeable chaps on here - they usually respond well to pictures and question marks O0 {-)

Welcome aboard :-))

Hi Dave I live a few miles north of you but have you ever considered visiting the Tynemouth MBC, its in Tynemouth Park off Grand parade
and they meet about 10.00 on a sunday morning.
Some of the members are on this forum and are seriously good modelmakers - I got a lot of help when I first went down there.
Welcome to the forum

Thanks for the reply lads.hi Geoff I have thought out it just haven't had time to go down with the ship Patten I work. Hopefully I will get down in a few weeks time. In the mean time I will try to up load a few pic of the things I'm not quite sure of, other wise I won't be able to continue until I have seen some one cheers Dave %%

This is the model I'm building.the biggest problem I have found is a can't pin the hull down to a building board to keep it straight because th top of the hull is curved
-
Sorry I can't help you there - the things I build are grey and have guns and go at a sedate speed.

Hi Dave1985 and welcome to Mayhem.
With regard to your model falling over during it's construction, the recommended support is a cradle underneath. You need to mark out with paper the curvature of the hull and cut a piece of wood to fit each end. Glue some felt onto the curve and fix the shape to a base board.
Hey presto.... rest the boat horizontal for working on it.
