hi just finished a tvr1a ,runs perfect on air, making the connections to the steam and exhaust manifolds  i am going to silver solder them but just thought are they made up with silver solder or are they soft soldered, also is anyone out there still making the cylinder cover and steam chest modifications in brass ,kind regards Allan :-))

pretty sure the original flange solder is silver...at least that's how it came on mine. You can try to scratch it with a pin, if it does not scratch, it's silver. I silver soldered a threaded fitting to the hot side manifold stub for connection ease.

There was someone making the brass covers for sale a few years ago.  I have not seen them lately.  I was going to machine a set for my engine, but it is mostly covered and looks fine anyway...

What I really wanted to make was a set of bronze/silver steel links and slide.....

That was me with the brass covers for the Graham TVR1A. I have some, if you need. You can see them here: http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2359116

Yw, Alan.  Those are NICE covers KNO3.  If my engine was visible, I would definitely get a set.

pipercub1772,

Looks very interesting--I wish I was a machinist, but let me say (if I may): NICE WORK!

And, just in "round numbers," what would the charges be, in USD,  plus shipping and insurance, to America?

Thanks!
