Title: CHOICES, oh choices!?
Post by: BFSMP on April 03, 2017, 05:21:30 pm

My mate and I went for a walk around Lancaster today and whilst we were walking up towards the top end of town near the canal with his little pug we came across a cycle shop.

Baring in mind that he is selling his Watson lifeboats that he built on here:

to fund the purchase of a classic MG......he stood pondering in the window at the pedal bike, before looking bemused at me and asked......"Where's the *****ng engine mate?"

so what should he have.........considering his arthritis and spondylosis.........I have to say I know what I would have in my old age........both the bike and the two MG's are the same price lol. %% %% {:-{ {:-{ {:-{

What would you choose, :o %)

The red MGB GT is nice but I'd lose the Minilite wheels and put some steel Ro-style's on.  The bronze rag-top is just nasty.

 {-) {-) {-) Or a boot  to put a crash helmet in, because as sure as god made little apples........at our age we'd need one riding one of those things, lol.

  Why remove the Minilites? The factory used them for racing, and they are lighter and stronger than Rostyles, and the same goes for the non-standard (?) wires on the roadster. As with any MGB, retro-modify back to 1970 spec, fit a sensible cam and a pair of 2" SUs, and you have a nice car.

It's a personal thing.  I honestly think that GTs look better with Rostyles.  Minilites look good on Minis but I've never liked the look of them on MGs.  Wires are always good but I've never trusted knock on hubs and bolt on wires are daft.

not interested in biking what so ever Umi. not even one with stabilisers,  {-)

The last thing on my  mind, I was comparing what my friend could get MG wise for the price of a mountain bike.

Sorry Umy...........I need stabilisers just to walk properly these days, never mind riding a bike.

I saw a tricycle with an electric front wheel zooming along the cycle way behind the airport on Queensway the other day.  He was going the other way, I was sitting in a queue.  He looked happy.
