Hhahahaa.....that never happens, they come, they sit they eat, drink, make merry and then sod off leaving the mess behind..
I’m looking at a cruise for next year, leave on the weekend before and come back in January - perfect!

a large glass of port and a whole stilton with hunt the bismark on tv. what i will get is noise, arguments, the dog barking and tidying up all the wrapping paper. on the plus side im going to a pub for dinner!

Am I the only one who likes Christmas?
We have toys for Christmas - I'm having a bunch of Airfix models, the wife's having Lego. We go and feed the ducks in the morning, have a great Christmas dinner, watch the crap telly while playing with our toys and enjoying the various chocolates and drinks.
If you're not enjoying it, you're doing it wrong.

As for presents i got mine this year early - an armoured cable to my shed which gives me reliable and safe power I've really got everything I wanted.

Completely agree, it's what you make of it.
Just me, the wife and the dogs, lots of silly presents that we take all day to unwrap, spoil the dogs, eat too much and cuddle up in front of the log burner watching brain dead TV all evening. This year we are going to indulge in the "lost" Morecambe and Wise episodes. What's not to like?

The big day is almost here lots of food a few beers lots of telly and hopefully some surprises. It is very cold frosty and foggy in the north so Santa may get lost for a short while.

Someone to put spare gears and shafts for the Jackson outboard motor back into production, but I suspect my wishes won't be granted..............
In the meanwhile I'll be figuring out ways to convert some of my models to LiPo batteries without setting fire to them.

got exactly what i asked for. a peaceful day. no arguments or stress . over ate, as usual. got some socks and underwear whuch were desperately needed, a heated car seat , new garden fork, a decent bottle of port and a few bits and bobs.

Well I didnt get anything model boaty-related but a book on SS Great Britain and some nice irish whiskey.
What I really wanted was some leather seats for my classic car project alas Mum and Dad couldn't really bring themselves to spend £2300 on some for me! So I had to spend some of my hard saved money from my time in Cyprus to pay for them!!! :(( [size=78%] [/size]

Can you still get spares for a Magnette?
Mine had leather and woodwork and green dash lighting. Best car I ever owned but sent off to sea when we had the Cuba crisis I sold it to my relief for a double tot >>:-(

Plenty of spares available for Magnettes, if you shop between the two companies NTG and MG Spec for the best deals. NTG has all the leather so can charge what they like but at least its hand made to your spec- in my case maroon leather with maroon carpet.
Problem is getting complete cars for less than £10,000 these days, I spoke to John Shorten who has restored over 45 ZA and ZBs and he heard of one recently selling for £31,000!!! %%
This car wont be for selling but its eating away at the budget quicker than I expected.

I learned to drive in a mk2 Pinin Farina Magnette of my fathers...….nice car to drive and learn in...…..wish I still had it.

Nothing model related but a couple of jumpers some lovelly Pate and chutnies choccies oh and a fly fishing vest come life jacket in case I fall in...(MMMM done that a couple of times this year) and a wonderful day with the Girls who got spoilt rotten
