went over to my local diy shop for some paint stripper eight pounds for a small tin only wanted an egg cup full so if any body has got any spare for postage i will keep my shed door open to receive it with open arms

All of the stripper bottles that I have seen have a resealable top. The unused stuff keeps well with the top replaced.

Royal Mail prohibits the sending of caustics, which includes 'corrosive paints' and rust removers. It also prohibits sending any paints or varnishes. Although the actual words 'paint stripper' don't feature I reckon it would be most unlikely that this stuff could be sent by post. Just imagine the problems it could cause if the can were to be punctured... :o
That said, there are any number of courier services which would be willing to carry such items.
