Post by: oldiron on June 13, 2020, 12:35:25 am
I'm looking for information on dazzle paint schemes used on WW1 Laker Class cargo ships. I have  on photo of the bow of such a vessel, but information seems to below on a more complete view of such a vessel.I realise dazzle shemes varied reatly, however, any information relative to cargo vessels in this scheme would be very helpful in my task to paint one.thanks

See if you can locate a book called "Ship Shape, a Dazzle Camouflage Sourcebook" edited by Roy Behrens.  It's on Amazon and you might find it on eBay.

Try Abe Books too. There seem to be some on there from the US at about  $40-50

There is a page for that ship on NavSource.org, here: www.navsource.org/archives/12173681.htm There are a few more smilar photos in "Dazzle", but it is more a history of the designers than the ships. That said you might try accessing the Fleet Library, Rhode Island School of Design. Another possible source is the United States Navy History and Heritage Command ( US NHHC)
