apologies if this has been asked before ...
I have one of these

I'm powering it with 4.8v MiNH batteries
seems to provide power to the receiver
receiver ch1 drives rudder servo nicely
receiver ch2 drives the motor

when I power it up, red LED blinks a few times, then goes off

occasionally has a little blink

ch2 motor forwards
LED on solid
stop

LED occasionally has a little blink

ch2 motor reverse
LED on solid, motor turns t'other way

stop

LED occasionally has a little blink

in all cases there is no apparent pattern to the blinking
sometimes, just the odd blink
sometimes frantic morse code

should I worry?
what does it mean?

supplementary question
I have the "brake switch" set near to the edge of the board
if I switch it t'other way
motor always responds to forwards
sometimes, in fact most times, reverse is ignored
but the LED still comes on solid as if it should be doing the right thing

confused?
moi?
yup!
