It is just coming up to the 4th anniversary of Dave Milbourn's passing.
We have lost many members over the last few years but Dave was something special with his unique personality and willingness to help fellow modellers. His lifetime interest in Fairey Powerboats has inspired many modellers and his legacy lives on with the kits he designed for SLEC in his final years, all of them are works of art and wonderfully designed. If you want a new project you will find nothing better.
Dave was an inspiration to so many of us and deserved to be remembered as such. He did so much for our hobby.
His Wife Liz confirmed that he was a fan of the Eagles so you might like to check out the following links, Take it Easy was played at his funeral and he did 'Take it to the Limit'

Those four years have gone by so fast! I still remember the last five times we displayed at Warwick as a club directly opposite Dave, his cheeky smile and sense of humour were enough to keep me going after those long days during the show. I often spoke to him at the quiet times of the show and he would give me the best advice on wiring and radio equipment which I still abide by to this day.
I have built his last model he helped design for SLEC and it’s fabulous and sails beautifully. A fantastic gentleman who is still sorely missed.

One of the wonderful, helpful people in our hobby. He treated me so well in the advice he gave. Hard to believe it has been four years since his passing.

FLJ - miss ya mate.
Regards Ian.

I think we all miss one of the great model boat builders.
He called me The Larrikin, which of course is proudly the name of my Fairey Huntsman.

Crumbs, is it really 4 years?
Seems like just last week I was chatting to him over a stand full of servos, ESCs, mixers etc. and discussing how much better a Swordsman sailed better than a Huntsman. With my limited experience of such things I didn't manage to add much to the conversation as I've only driven a 1:1 scale Huntsman once, but it was very educational. :-)
And I'm chuffed to blazes that I actually own one of his prototypes myself now, a Huntsman naturally. :-)

Wow 4 years - An irreplaceable man who helped me to understand electrics and electronics when I was struggling
