Looks good Jay..
Will we see it at B'stoke?
Missed you this afternoon..despite the weather quite a few there...
I put a Graupner 700BB Turbo in that old Huntsman of mine...WOW got 10 minutes running..then flat battery but WoW
it was sat on the last four inches of hull going like a scalded cat..then in amongst the tugs and sail boats...back to Tito I haven't got the reaction times required..
CU
Sunday?

Hi Jay,
How come you didn't use the kit supplied motor mount and radio tray? Is it just personal preference? I am intrigued as I have already trimmed those out ready for fitting in mine.
Clive :)

I was going to twin prop her but the props supplied are 40mm and would only cavitate and fight against each other for thrust.
with the help and knowledge of Bob (shipmate60) i decided to use my 4mm ballraced shaft as this gives me a lot wider range of props i can use without being inpractical, this was also easier to install at the required angle with a P bracket fixed to the stern tube.
At the moment im using a 40mm plastic prop but i may down size to a 35mm brass job from prop shop or sitek.

What are you going to build next week Jay ? ;D

Roofrack for hull and boot for superstructure(s) ;D
may have a bigger car by the time its fully built anyways, might even buy meself a little van just for the boats.

Still need to put the white boot top on with some vinyl then she is ready for the water to see how it goes before i progress onto detailing her properly.

Just a fast update, did a sneaky lake test tonight and found speed is about right but the twin rudder set-up i am running is a bit how can i put it PANTS ::) not enough space under the hull for the rudders to get enough through.
im taking out the twin rudders and going for the single option direct inline with the prop much better i think.
will be at basingstoke sailing her on sunday so will see how she performs properly then.

Whats happened here Jay, has the build stopped ?

Here we go been a busy bee but forgot i started a thread on it ::)
this is as she is at the moment

Instead of making the hand railings like the slipway plans i have opted to make them as per the real thing or as close as i could

As you can see from some of the earlier pictures i did convert her from twin rudder back to the more useable single job.
I think the most hardest part of the build so far was putting the rubber fendering on all the way round the deck trying to get it straight was a pigs ear but i got there in the end.
Also upgraded the running set-up, ive now got a graupner speed400 motor in her and she goes very well on 7.2volts just need to put the extra spray rails on the bow to deflect the spray a bit more.

Nice job on those railings JB .
Are they hand made ? If so are they soldered ? I cant see from the pics :)
Nice work either way (http://shutter01.pictures.aol.com/data/pictures/05/002/1F/7F/C8/FF/oHFGsgrPFI9tQ8Hlsf-1Lg1ogl8urnR7001A.jpg)

Got some 34mm stanchions from my local model shop, there the same size as the plans which was good
all ive done is bend the copper wire supplied to form the D shapes like the real tenby hand railings.
Ive not soldered them yet as i wanted to make sure everything is straight and the stanchions are level.
