Does anyone recognise the origins of this tug model, which has obviously seen better days. It is mainly vac-forms and plastic card. I bought it quite cheaply as a project but close examination in the light of day shows there is a lot of work needs doing to it. It came with two barges, but these are so badly damaged as to be useless. At least the lead in their bottoms will come in handy.
If it's a kit, I'd like to get hold of the instructions to help in this project, but it might just go to the end of a long queue.

I'm looking to build a barge myself ??

The barges are pretty banged up, probably too much so to be saved. Large cracks and splits in the hulls, damaged cargo bay covers and missing accessories (bollards etc). The attached photo may be able to show some of the damage.

I just can't grasp this,Joppy UK.
not long ago you were in the throes of gathering info for a scratch build of an early torpedo boat destroyer........
and now you aren't even going to attempt to "patch up" some working barges..............they were work horses on the Thames , patches, warts, scratches and all and the odd patch on the model hulls wouldn't look out of order or place........nor would some rubbed paint and rust?
would be a great shame to dispose of them for the sake of a few cracks in the hulls
By the way, could you please post your pictures in a larger format as they lose all definition when enlarged. cheers, neil.

Comments taken as intended. It's part of my butterfly mind at the moment. A scratch build is still intended, I just wanted something smaller and almost ready as a project to keep me going in the meantime. I'm not disposing of the barges yet, they may get a second look after the tug is dealt with.
The pictures - they give me a problem. When I first try them I get a message telling me they are too large, so I compress them to what my picture programme tells me is e-mail size. (I have a choice of four sizes to pick from), would 'web page' be more suitable?

Hi Joppy,
I usually go for 640 x 480 for photos - postimage being the host - and select (for message boards).
Works for me anyway. O0

I use Light Image Resizer for re sizing my photos........it's a free down load, but always wants you to buy their full service which I have never needed........the only down fall to it being free is that there is a counter on the thing before it is ready to use, and the older the download the longer you have to wait till it's ready to resize.........but it doesn't bother me as it gives me time to type the drivel that I post anyway, and then by the time I am ready the image resizer is ready also.........but with it, you can make just about any size you want. neil.

I'll just have to keep playing with the photos as I go, and try get it right in the end.
