It should have been in April but got cancelled because of the Dr's strikes.
I wish you all well and hope its a bit warmer for you than it has been
this last few days.
Looking forward to seeing some pictures on here.
Regards
Derek

I agree with Bob - this show never disapoints!
The only downside for me - I forgot the camera! <:(

Had I been Model boating enthusiast when I lived in West Sussex I would have been a regular visitor. It looks a good local show.
-
well what a dissapointment this show was this year , we arrived a little after 1030 , we had walked around the very few exibits and were ready to leave by 1230 , just one trade stand , sell ing a few arfix kits & a little acrylic paint . as for will we be bothering next year i very much doubt it
-
More people and traders on Saturday, but unfortunately date clash with Doncaster had its toll (traders) as there are usually half a dozen.
-
Went today had a great day lots of nice boats and modelers to talk to and one best tug in show,
Well done to all that organized it :-)) .
-
What a great weekend we had at Alfold, great weather on Sunday, the pond was dead calm and tranquil, and a good turn out of clubs as always .
Special thanks to the Colson family for all the hard work they put in to making sure we enjoy ourselves over the weekend .
-
I concur...what a nice weekend. We were there on the Sunday, warm, sunny, nice people throughout. And, and, and...we won Best In Show, for the Team, cheers guys, complete surprise :-)) ....Best In Show does sound like something you would get awarded at Crufts though..its not like we had any well presented Pugs or Pit Bulls or the like.
On reflection though!!
-
Trumpet blowing out the way first....
What a nice Shark Boat, apparently its 29 years old now, still looking good! (leaks like a pig though...!)
-
USS Kitty Hawk. Many working functions including fast jets spooling up engines, Phalanx guns firing with light effects to suit, plus a hell of an air group on board. It won Best Warship and I expected it to win Best Of Show, however we had Pugs, no contest!!
-
American Civil War Subs...much jealous :o
-
A bit more self indulgence...Marks Pusher Tug and Barge, and what may be the last outing for the Orca...we shall see <:(
-
A quick view down the rows of gazebos revealed fourteen clubs in attendance on Sunday.
-
No names, but maybe you need to invest in a shorter set of banner supports or taller tables! See you guys in a fortnight at Sumners Ponds %) ...Nice boats hiding behind though...
-
The 'other' Portsmouth crowd....the sensible ones that is :-))
-
Engel USS Patrick Henry, showing off its independent fore and aft control on the two piston tanks.
( I painted that.....years and years ago, its been about since!)
-
"Its a bird? Its a Plane?"
Its a plane, PBY, or Catalina flying boat. Wings clipped due to the nearby Dunsfold (Top Gear) aerodrome. Still, it acquitted itself well with fast taxi runs instead.
-
Fast stuff...
-
Slow stuff..
-
and stationary!!!
I was looking forward to this Top Cat going in. Great in light winds....then the wind dropped to nothing, not a breath..such is life.
-
He made up for it with this most impressive 1?72 scale Batch 3 Type 22 Frigate. Fitted with active stabilizers connected to the rudders, we had a long chat about improving the stability of the model. Once in the water it proved to be a moot point...very effective damping with the four stabilizers in action. Forget everything I suggested!
-
I enjoyed our visit to the 20th show, long may it continue. It was a pleasant change not to be running around preparing pyrotechnic displays, putting up speakers, doing borderline offensive commentaries, etc.
Still, all that to come in two weeks at Sumners Ponds..plus the Dabblers may throw me in the pond :}
