Title: All-up Weight of a Springer
Post by: richald on February 27, 2016, 12:50:09 pm
Just glueing lots of lead into the hull of my new Springer
- I am surprised at how much it is taking !-

Can anybody tell me what the 'average' Springer should weigh??

Mine weighs 8Lbs
Most of that is 2 x 6V 4.5A SLA's

Ned

Correction, just weighed a couple of SLA's and they are only 3 Lbs.
Must be more ballast than I hought.

Mine seems to have panned out at about 8lbs with the
bottom lip of the transom just touching the water

I have ballasted it for a 7.2v NiMh racepack, judging
by how much lead I had to put inside the hull, using
2 x 4.5A SLAs ain't going to sink the hull much more!
