Title: 'Shipping wonders of the world'
Post by: Nemo on January 05, 2017, 12:40:50 pm
A car boot fair allowed me to find several issues of this elderly magazine and I thought I would share it here.

Many photos and history of shipping types, salvage, etc from this 1930s magazine.

Interesting site, strangely not seen that before, a few years back I had all the copies and put this together, but not as detailed as the site you have.

I think virtually all school library's had the two bound copies of this magazine. They were a life saver on wet days when we were prevented from playing, if that's the right word, outside.

I have the two bound volumes plus one spare as well as a complete set of loose copies with their cover's. I thought that these had been stolen but, one of the lads who was clearing out my attic the other week found them again and was on the verge of throwing them into the skip until I glanced over to him. He's still alive and helping demolish and rebuild my gable as I write this.

PS. I also found a complete set of bound copies of Railway Wonders of the World. And well worth the £35 I paid for them in Hay.

I paid £1 for 20 copies and now see them offered on Ebay for £5.99 (each)!
