They've been running these Titanic stories for at least 20 years - none have ever materialised - most are investment scams where they make elaborate plans, animations, pretty pictures and even lay down a bit of cheap steel - all to get international investors to hand over buckets of cash - before the company disappears with their money.

I'll be VERY surprised if this ever gets finished or sees water or ever sees a customer.

Ah. Not sea going, it will be permanently moored on the river (that'll teach me to read the first page in the article).

I have been following this project since it began.    I have no strong feelings either way why it should, or should not be built - but I do find it interesting.   One thing I have noticed is that they seem to be stalling on building the counter stern.    To me, how that turns out will indicate whether they are going to make a hash of it.    If they get that right, they will probably get the rest right as well.  There doesn't seem to have been much progress in the past few months!Bob

It is highly likely that they have cash flow issues. There have been a number of grand projects that have stalled since President Xi started his anti-corruption drive.

They probably forgot to add the rivets to the plug before they made the hull moulding {-)
