Have to admit that this is not something I was aware of until very recently...but in my quest to broaden my YouTube channel to all things RC I found the Offshore Model Racing Association (OMRA). I contacted them and they invited me down to their most recent racing event in Southampton. Despite the bumpy conditions there was some close racing and I think I captured the flavour of what it was all about.

Love the launch method...hope they use a kill switch prior to the lift out after the race.......................

Like any petrol/gas engine powered model, yes, kill switch is mandatory.

Can anyone identify the green mono hull boat that was the first to be thrown in on the video please?
I am considering having another go after a short (45+ year) break and like the look of that hull shape.

Would the Pacer 62 be a suitable hull for the new Zenoah 34cc marine engine?
...............and would it be a good choice of hull to re-start racing with?

yep the new 32 cc zen ( or 34 ) wil fit into the pacer 62 , there are a couple of the 32 cc engines running in the OMRA race series and tey are working great
more torque than out right HP over a 26 / 28 but does the job , early days with the tunning aswell

I just visited King Cobra Racing this morning and Richard showed me some full circle marine engine "stroker" crankshafts he has in stock from Zenoah (not CY) with +1mm and +2mm to fit their marine engines.
These are a little different to the CY stroker shafts he has sold for many years (as they do not have the orange nylon filler in them) but they look to be at least as strong and should do a good job.
King Cobra Racing has been the UK importer and distributor for Zenoah for the last 25 years or so and stocks the full range of Zenoah engines and spare parts for the UK - and also supplies many dealers and engine tuners too with prices that save having to import them from overseas.
Most engines and spare parts arrive "next day" after ordering them - saving valuable time when an engine "goes down" (like just before an important race meeting) and can also save having to wait or pay import duties!
KCR always has stocked plenty of marine engines and spare parts but is currently talking with Zenoah about expanding their involvement with the water-cooled engines so this could be good news for racers, engine tuners and suppliers alike :-)) .
As soon as they get back from this weeks EFRA Grand Prix (held in the UK this year !) KCR will be buying some suitable hulls for their engines and doing some testing and I am looking to see how they get on.
