Hi All,
I'm refurbishing a second hand Unimat 3 (Austrian built) for the odd job such as gun barrels.
All is straight and tidy, with very little wear. Motor runs smoothly and the brushes are virtually new.
Can someone recommend a suitable oil for the slides and for the odd plain bearings and also a lightweight grease for the gearbox drive to the power feed.
The earlier thread referred to a company 'Chronos' but they seem to have disappeared.
Thanks
Tony

Still there https://www.chronos.ltd.uk/

Chronos's website is still up, here:

You might like to check these websites which have loads of stuff about your lathe and other lathes in general.
http://unimat.homestead.com/techtip.html
http://lathes.co.uk/
If memory serves either of these will do for lubricating your lathe
Trent S32. ISO 32
Castrol Magna BD68
They are both easy to find on fleabay.

Cheers Chaps,
I tried the Chronos link from the earlier thread but got the '404' message.
I've never used a lathe before so it's all part of the learning curve!

I use Light oil on my old EW lathe which seems to do the trick.
