Thank you for letting me know I can follow along and chip in on there and here

Care55 did you get any further with this? Got a 3D printer arriving this week and keen to give this one a go before I start printing some of my own designs.

Got the hull done and started painting it the structure I have mostly done took a big break from doing it other commitments have had me distracted but there are a few people who have made it now.
Which printer have you gone for.

Care55,
I've got a Flashforge Creator Pro arriving Tomorrow. Got a very good deal through a friend and I already have a lot of model boat related bits I've built up in anticipation. I do lots of Cad style work for other things and have done for many years so it was just sort of a natural progression for me.
Looking forward to sharing some of it soon.

That looks nice but way more then I would be spending
I would like to get the stl files for it between all my printers it would be another project

From what I understand Shapeways have recently restructured their pricing model.
Too many people were complaining that small items were expensive so they've brought the prices of those down and, to offset that, have whacked up the prices of anything slightly larger to astronomical values.
Plenty of free files out there suitable for 3D Printing, one of my favourites being a version of the Yarra tug (Buccaneer) made famous by Vic Smeeds plan's.

Always happy to help Mayhemers out with any 3D Printing they need as well of course - no labour charge.
