Hi John

The diagram at the bottom of this page might help you decide which wire is which

As a rule the red and black are always paired together, so the other black is white!!

Or translated into some form of english, the pos and neg are usually paired together ( except maybe on Fleet gear..a law unto themselves!!), meaning whatever you are left with is the signal wire. The above description does smack of Sanwa mid to late eighties, not Hitec. However, the servo may have been rewired, in which case all bets are off and good luck to you sir :-)

Why bother? Servos are so cheap that it's easier to treat yourself to something new and properly compatible.

Sanwa went their own way for many years and only fell into line around the turn of the century.
It is quite possible that anybody using mostly Sanwa gear would rewire a "foreign" servo to match.  To be sure involves looking at the insides and seeing where the wires go.  Usually the power wires have a short connection to an electrolytic capacitor which is marked "+" and "-", the other being the signal.  With flat cable, a cross-over can be easily spotted, twisted wire, less easy.
But as said earlier, new ones are so cheap today.

Hi plastic, treating myself to new kit is not a problem, it's just as I am a curious person and would
Like to know for my own satisfaction.

Hi klunk, I asked George he said his boats are all in working order you would have a lot of servos
Because you don't sail your boats you just collect them  {-) {-)

RAAArty.....agreed good reference & all in one shop..... :-))

I am pretty sure you are still on Win7'..

Just right click the file name......choose Add to favourites... & hey presto

Do the same for the other three file names  & you have them grouped & saved together in your favourites by name O0

Thanks guys, but by far the simplest way to file them is right click on each picture and then click save as. It will then download each picture to your computer, I've got loads of stuff like this in a folder called 'useful boat info' :embarrassed: :embarrassed:
