Title: THAMES STEAM LAUNCH WATERLILY
Post by: annie on February 04, 2018, 05:48:13 pm
Hi - my brother was one of the apprentices who rebuilt Waterlily at Vosper Thornycroft.  My other brothers and sisters would like to get him a momento for his 60th birthday.  Can anyone help ?  Are there any small models available of this launch, or one very similar ??

Many thanks

Sadly I do not know of any models on the market for the Waterlilly. My late father spent a long time at the National Maritime Museum taking photos and measurements to build a model (The Waterlilly is now in the the museum at Falmouth), which he called "The lady Patricia"
The only main difference being that the model has a mahogany planked hull as opposed the original having a steel hull. The model is steam powered with a home designed and built steam plant.
