Title: Futaba 2 Channel Rx
Post by: richardabeattie on March 13, 2018, 08:52:41 pm
I now have three Futaba T2HR 2.4GHz two channel transmitters, each apparently matched to the receiver that came with it, and each receiver now buried inside a model.  How can I find out which frequency each Tx uses and then buy additional Rx to match?

Hello Richard.
2.4 doesn't work like that. You have to bind the receiver to the transmitter and every time you do this they will produce their own unique pairing. Just buy another receiver of the same type and bind to the transmitter you want to use it with.
If your transmitter is not capable of multiple models you can only have one receiver to each transmitter

Thanks but I don't understand your reply.

How do you "bind" a Rx to a Tx?
Could you explain "If your transmitter is not capable of multiple models" ?

Some low spec receivers don't have multiple model memory.
Slightly higher spec probably can operate 10 models and have a separate receiver bound to each model memory.
Do you have an instruction manual or the spec of your kit? Binding and all else will be in there

Futaba doesn't use model match so even the simplest transmitter can be bound to several receivers.

Will that unit switch between multiple receivers Jim? or will they all be paired the same and just connect to the one that is powered up? This is new to me thanks.

Sorry for any confusion Richard

I hope this is useful.

Good find  :-))   From that I glean (page 20) that each transmitter is unique and you link it to a receiver in close proximity. So all receivers for that type of transmitter are the same ?

At the moment there is only one compatible receiver for that set.

I would suggest re-binding each Tx to an individual model. Put a coloured spot of paint on the matching Tx and Rx ( different colours please!! ). When it comes to additional Rxs, these can be paired to whichever transmitter you like, but follow the colour spot thing suggested above. You can pair as many receivers as you like to a single transmitter, but can practically only use one at a time.

Normal rules of the road for 2G4 radios. The receivers bind to the transmitter which has its unique code.
Any number of receivers can bind to one transmitter by being "taught" that code.  In most cases, once bound, if all are switched on, they will all respond together.
To bind a receiver to a transmitter, physical access to the receiver is needed.
This assumes that the receivers used and the transmitter are compatible.  True for most brands, not just Futaba.  With some brands, compatibility might not exist on the same model number.

Finally understood and have bought two more Futaba 2 channel Rx hoping to be able to introduce them to one of my existing TX.  It's all obvious once you know!

I have a Futaba 6EX 2.4 GHz which I purchased nearly 12 years ago. I now have 8 boats, each with their own Receiver which is bound to the Transmitter. Although the Transmitter has 6 (I believe) memories I only need 2 - one prop and two prop. All the boats are set up the same way and as I am the only one using it with one model at a time I have no problems. Set up the Receiver before putting the boat together and access is no problem.
