Title: Receiver position Engel type VII
Post by: ex docky on June 07, 2018, 09:48:29 pm
I have recently started an Engel type vii, the brushless motor version.
I would like any advice as to whether it is OK to fit the receiver adjacent to the motors and speed controllers (space is extremely limited in the position stated in the instruction manual) cannot find a futaba 40 mhz receiver small enough to fit in the allocated spot, 8 channel that will work with a robbe 8370 channel multiplier!
Am I correct in assuming there will be far less interference from brushless motors?
Thanks

Certainly should be better with brushless motors - no sparks!
(My personal experience is limited because I now always use brushless motors in subs (lots of benefits) but I haven't used 40 MHz for some years but 458Mhz where interference is even less of a problem.)
So try the 40Mhz receiver in that position. I also find that interference is often more of a problem on the "bench" rather than in the water.
