:) I was talking to Bryan about the tickets. He said there's no limit to the number of them, he just wants to spread the arrival times in half hourly intervals through the morning up to about eleven. After that just turn up. The reason for them is that last year everyone turned up at the same time and it was really crowded in the factory and everywhere. I was one of the crowd and it's true that it was difficult to move about. Any way, I didn't send an envelope, I just phoned and he let me choose a time. It'll be better this year as there'll be a pool to sail on. I can't wait for the roast beef sandwiches! :)

Hi Daz, The tug was hooked up stern to stern he had come about to push the stern across with the
bow thruster as there was not a lot of room in the pond.

Wow - Wonderful pictures.   Could anyone shed some light on the Crowley tractor "Guide".

Once again, wonderful show.

Best regards

Andy

I don think its supposed to be the Crowley Guide Andy... Its WAAAY out on what Guide looks like...

If my memory serves me correctly, the 6 Crowley tugs in Guide's class are Scout, Leader, Admiral, Master (all in LA), Chief.. and Guide (in the Pacific North West)

I've been on Scout and been 'close up and personal' with Master, Leader and Admiral.. the one pictured looks more a freelance just named 'Guide'..

Compare the two pics...

Leader is the same 'class' as Guide...

 {-)

Also...
Where did Alexandra towing's Sun XXVIII come from?... AT never had a XXVIII and the last in the Sun X series was a traditional screw tug, not a voith..  >>:-(

Hi Tugboat, TheTug Guide was built by Ray Malone from the Southend Club. I do believe  the build
was free lance.  when I received the tug from him it had a small type voith unit fitted  I converted
it to a large type unit.  I use it to tow with and Iam very happy with it.

Hi Toesupwa, WE tug towers in the north now there is not a Sun 28.  But whats in a name if the tug
looks good  If you was to take time to have a good look at the tug you will see its a conversion of the
Parrat tug.The guy that built the tug made a excellent job. By the way he came from down South.
Do you think I should change the name to  JOE  BLOGGS. {-) O0

Thanks for the confirmation, i thought my eyes were deceiving me for a minute... I've been on Sun XXVI (built 1965 i think) and i didnt think Alexandra Towing went to a XXVIII before they were taken over.

Nah, leave it's name as it is... or Alexandra Bloggs..  :P

I think George Boyd may have done the conversion job on the SUN XXV111.
