Title: Venetian Waterways Gondola
Post by: The Old Fart on September 01, 2018, 01:40:36 pm
I'm looking into putting a Gondola back onto the Venetian Waterways in Great Yarmouth, in model form....

The park is closed for renovations until May 2019. So it would be good to get a model ready for the reopening.
Can anyone think of a ready made hull that will be suitable.

I needed a strange hull, a quick message to Christian at MTB hulls was all it took to find one. Really nice guy and very helpful.

Veniceboats.com do a laser cut kit of a gondola for 48 euros plus p&p.  Shop wasn't open when I passed it a couple of years ago but the stuff in the window display looked good.

Unfortunately these boats were not real venetian gondolas as can be seen from the photos. Basically they look like a standard open launch with added figurehead at the stem.

I now have a hull to use, it's 1.440M long.

I intend to fit a single screw prop, but what size should I use??
