Hmmm...

The Bismarck 1/200.....as per Hachette

HMCS Snowberry, kit by Revell

And in the wings,

Elco PT Boat, kit by Italeri

just enough to require a room of my own. {-)

As well as having the Revell Gato, the USS Blueback and U-33 in various stages of completion, I'm contemplating a Type XX111 U-boat for my winter build project. U-441 has been shelved for the time being, I can't find the room in here for a 8 foot boat... <:(

Hi.
Still waiting for the 1/35 Italeri Schnelboot kit, announced in January 2007, its supposed to be available next month !! Should make a great RC project at around 39 inches long and 6 inch beam, quite a kit with 450 plastic parts, 22 clear parts, 90 photo-etch, rope and even a screwdriver!!

galley looks sound (dolls house convert or did you rob the kids to fit out the boat).

I really am just kidding......, I think we are a little hard on ourselves when building our chosen projects. It's only when all the bits are assembled that I suddenly think to myself, hey you didn't do bad after all.

I hate painting, so that's what I end up spending weeks trying to get my head around what I want my boat to look like, and end up with going with the paint that I saw in my head when I first clapped eyes on the hull....... with a twist.

Keep on going, you ain't made nothing if you haven't made a mistake

Come to a full stop on building the Rainbow J-Class. A bit of builders block.
Few other projects on the go (when I get rid of the block)!
Found a brilliant site that has very detailed plans on how to build boilers and engines, from low pressure up to v-6s. Will have a go at one of them at work soon.

Rich,

Believe me that if I could, I would.  :-))
Perhaps, if I can do what I want to do re; a small marine engine for steam, I might have a go at one off (block).
Will post some photos one day/week/month (when I can) of some of the machines that we have at work. A few of them are rather special.
Have also got a little lathe in the garage (boat-shed).

There I was, quite happily continuing to work on the plugs for moulding my dream lifeboat, the 51' Barnett Mary Stanford when I went along to the Blackpool show with a little Bassett Lowke builders model of a self righting lifeboat to display on the Lifeboat enthusiast stand. %)
Along came Adrian from Speedline Models who took an instant liking to the little model...........and the rest is history. {:-{
I now have one very nice Tamar class lifeboat to work on at the same time :((
WILL EITHER EVER GET FINISHED??? :-X I hope so.
Having said that, putting the two boats, of 70 years apart in age,I am amazed at the comparative sizes of the two boats, and the bravery of those who manned such older boats who had to deal with the same sea and weather conditions that the Tamar is now expected to contend with.
They are both the same length and beam to scale 1:12 :-))

This is my first boat build, the Caldercraft Joffre, but I am going to make a few changes to her just to be different. Nothing too drastic, just a little bit here and a little bit there.Made a start on her about a month ago after joining the ranks of the semi-retired..... :-X........Smudge
