Graupner Power Mos 48 speed controller, HELP!

Is there any way of setting up this controller to run a model boat motor (700bb Turbo 9.6v)  without having to set the brake and cut-off reset points during installation.. I'm assuming that someone out there has some experience of this controller as it's not exactly new on the market..
